Kevin Jodrey has done major things in weed

But we mostly talked about parenting + competitive kettlebell

Some people take issue with my use of “cannabis royalty,” insisting that the royalty concept is at odds with the plant’s intention. I get that objection. My whole thing is, some people are higher than others, in their deeds and the lives they lead.

We should celebrate these weed achievers.

No guest in the nearly one-year history of this digital sojourn has lived a higher, more resonant life in American cannabis than this week’s guest, Kevin Jodrey. He’s one of Humboldt County’s most celebrated growers ever.

Kevin Jodrey

Jodrey, 58, is the brilliant force behind Wonderland, the first vertically-integrated nursery in the US. He launched Wonderland in 2012, after a long and impactful career in the traditional cannabis market. The New England native’s team produced plants in-house, shipped them directly to consumers, and worked with the local school and state regulators and politicians at a time when diminishing the plant’s stigma was crucial.

He also assisted developing one of largest tissue culture-based nurseries in the country, Conception Nursery. From Israel to Australia and Canada to Pakistan, Jodrey has helped cannabis be better with his self-made scientific mind. A half-dozen years ago, Wonderland merged with Cookies. and become their research and development partner.

If you would like to learn salient details about Kevin Jodrey’s wild and varied life, I’d start with this excellent article from March. We spent an unreasonable amount of time on competitive kettle bell action, because Kevin competes in it with his son. My last child is leaving LA for university tomorrow, so I’m kind of obsessed with dad action.
