A lot of kool folks will be flowing through, just a little behind schedule
Kool Keith is supposed to be on the Substack podcast. He’s been in my pantheon of hip hop artists since his 1996 album Dr. Octagon. (Also sold as Dr. Octagonecologyst).
Yet, Keith’s not the planned Sojourn guest I’m most excited about. From here, that looks like a tie.
As some of you may have read, the success of Katie Flinn’s visit brought me to invite Ati Sundhari, an artist and yogini who deeply affected my life on the mat when I was in great need. Ati also once coaxed me into joining her for Portland’s World Naked Bike Ride, a transformational event in my Pacific Northwest life. She lives and teaches in Mexico. We have lots to talk about.
So do fascinating community leader-administrator-curator-artist-writer Badly Licked Bear and I. In fact, this LA creature and I have recorded conducted two interviews, neither of which has resulted in a published podcast. I own the blame for this.
As if Badly, Keith and Ati weren’t enough, I also have expat comic book creator Lance Tooks, straight out of Madrid. In the can, finally, there’s a sweetly illuminating conversation with Color of Motion host Don Terrell, an artist who grew up with me in small-town Ohio.
So much good stuff.
Yet, I’m working on—and trying to sell—a complex Pacific Northwest print piece and running just a bit behind. Bear with me.
