The Florida band Nonpoint wasn’t familiar to me until a little more than a week ago. A friend invited me down to see them rock the Garden Amphitheater on Friday night.
Whoa.
After the Garden Amp, my friend and I caught the above mid cover band at Anaheim’s Bobby V’s, which I’ve read has a punk karaoke night.
Swear to Jah, Friday night was so much fun. I came of age in metal circles, attending keggers and getting arrested in Middle America’s 1980s. Raw 20th-century youth. When I traded up from the likes of Motley Crue and Judas Priest for more sophisticated college radio content? I lost something.
Being around so many Nonpoint fans, who seem to have that thing intact, had me slightly reeling.
