WCS 43: Nigganigans' Consequence

We can be so much better than we’ve been this summer

This note is coming y’all’s way not just because the name Donnell Alexander is bound to be near the top of the list of “socialist vermin” who’ll be rounded up next January 20, unless American politics take a serious turn. Sure, I’m flat-out fucked if Biden/Vance/Musk get elected, but as my choice of newsletter illustration shows, the real stakes are exponentially higher than one writer’s freedom.

So, here goes:

The United States’ political nigganigans—that’s right, nigga shenanigans—have got to cease, now.

Straight away, you might think I’m referencing that high-profile pair of legislative lapdogs, Tim Scott and Byron Donalds, because they allowed themselves to be trotted out and showcased as “potential vice presidential candidates” when their Black asses were functionally just gateway Negros, providers of the GOP with unprecedented access to our poorly-informed, Republi-curious kinfolk.

Surrendering our intellectual integrity so that Bubbee won’t die resenting us is yet another of the countless things that Blacks and Jews hold in common.

Nope. The nigganigans of which I speak are still more shameful and costly than the aforementioned. The nigganigans in question have since 6.27 been executed by President Biden apologists who repeatedly went on television and acted like they couldn’t wrap their minds around the premise that their ol’ master needed to quit because a Trump win will be so catastrophic.

These Democratic Party representatives and journalists whose price tags were showing shuffled their way past reason again and again, thereby energizing Baptist great grandma back home, who almost understands electoral politics but not quite. Hasn’t yet had a chance to wrap her mind around swing-state push polling. Surrendering our intellectual integrity so that Bubbe won’t die resenting us is yet another of the countless things that Blacks and Jews hold in common.

Nigganigan is a malleable word; one knows the act when one spots one. In essence though, a nigga shenanigan is silliness that’s powered by the African-American slavery experience. Which means that Brown and White people can get in on some nigganigan bullshit, too.

Like jazz and hoops though? My people are the masters of this American-made byproduct. And while servility isn’t obligatory to nigganiganism, its slipperiness can be definitive. Watching those aforementioned Black men made eunuch in public by Donald Trump was a hard watch. But, in an upset, MSNBC gaslighting all of the old liberal folks who still watch cable TV topped Scott and Donald’s shamelessly Tomming out.

Ya hate to see it.

Through this series of unfortunate nigganigans, Joe Biden gathered enough rope to hang himself and screw the Democratic party through the rest of the 2020s. A thousand canvassers have been in swing-state limbo, trying to figure out what to tell householders about their party’s strategy. For God’s sake, even Cali’s the Adam Schiff-Steve Garvey race has become competitive.

If I remember Sociology class at all, the technical name for Donald J. Trump is Clown Ass Motherfucker. Beating a guy like him should not be the goal. Our species has far more complex, pressing issues to contend with. If a plurality of Americans can just for once disobey our worst racial instincts while in political role play? The good that might be done is inestimable.

In case you were wondering, White people can indeed say nigganigans. You just gotta be thinking about your own passive culpability as you’re saying it. Do that, and we’re squared.

10 Cali schools can’t out trans kids anymore, so Placer County is in conflict

Gov. Gavin Newsom this week signed into law a ban that would keep school districts from spilling the beans to parents if their child happens to be trans. Placer County has two districts that passed parental notification policies last fall.
